As more data events flow through YOUnite the features and benefits of YOUnite become more apparent. This document provides a brief overview of some of these features and where to find out more about them.

Features and Benefits of YOUnite

Federated GET (Data Virtualization)

Data residing on multiple source systems can be retrieved by YOUnite and assembled for the API consumer. See:

Global DELETE

Data compliance laws are requiring the "right to be forgotten". YOUnite provides a mechanism to easily manage this across the YOUnite Data Fabric.

Data residing on multiple source systems can be deleted via the YOUnite Server API. See Deleting Data Records: Global Delete or the YOUnite UI.

Single API to Register for Change Events

image

YOUnite logs all events that occur in the YOUnite Data Fabric so API consumers can use YOUnite Server as a single interface for change notifications.

For example, API consumers can register for YOUnite events such as "POST /zone", or "PUT /domain/version/<uuid>" or data events including when a data record is created, updated, deleted or accessed via the YOUnite Server API. See the Notification Service page for more.

Data and YOUniteEvent Lineage (tracing)

All API and Message Bus events are logged by YOUnite. This includes data change events however, for data compliance reasons, the data itself is not logged. See Logging.

If there is a requirement to log the data for all data events, the YOUnite Temporal Adaptor.

Governance

Each zone can set inbound and outbound controls on what data can go in or out of a zone. These are manages through ACLs much like a network firewall. For more see Governance page for setting inbound and outbound.
